DENVER - Every summer in Colorado as the temperatures rise and moisture becomes scares, the threat of wildfires increases.
YOUR SHOW viewer Sam Jarris asked that we discuss the wildfire season in Colorado, the effect of the weather, and how it could impact Fourth of July fireworks.
Steve Segin from the Rocky Mountain Area Coordination Center, which coordinates resources to fight wildfires in our region, and fire meteorologist Tim Mathewson joined us in studio to answer your questions.
They discussed ways to protect your property in the event of a wildfire, how quickly conditions become ripe for wildfires, and how fires can get out of control fast.
Thanks to Sam Jarris, Bill Menezes, Scott Coan, Amanda Clarke, and Amanda Mason Breese for participating in the segment.
