New York, NY (Sports Network) - Jaime Elizondo has been named Columbia's offensive coordinator by new head coach Pete Mangurian.

Most recently, Elizondo was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach of the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League.

Mangurian, hired in December after Columbia slumped to 1-9 last season, originally named Ben McDaniels as the offensive coordinator, but he has taken a position with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an offensive assistant.

"Change is inevitable in football. It happens every year. The challenge is to be prepared, and we were," Mangurian said. "Jaime was at the top of my list when I was putting together my staff, and he is a natural fit. He has offensive coordinator experience at a high level. He's coached quarterbacks at a high level, and I'm happy to have him on board."

Elizondo, a 1997 graduate of Maryland, also has been an assistant coach at Hofstra and with the San Francisco 49ers.

Mangurian also named former NFL wide receiver Wendell Davis as the Lions' wide receivers coach.
