A spokesperson for Saunders Construction, Bob Roby, says 35-year-old Silviano Barreras Matiez died on Tuesday night in a Denver hospital.

The three men were working at the new Re-2 School District campus on July 26 when the scaffolding they were on collapsed. They each fell about 30 feet and all three were airlifted to the hospital.

Roby says Matiez worked for BW Masoning, which was hired by Saunders Construction on the Fairplay project.

The other two injured workers are recovering, according to Roby. One is still in the hospital and one has been released.

"Our prayers go out to the family and workers of BW Mason," Roby said.
