DENVER - Denver Police spent 11 hours at a home in south Denver, investigating a deadly shooting. Even after investigators combed through evidence for half a day, officers did not release much information about what happened.

Officers went to the 3200 block of South Glencoe Street around 10 p.m. Sunday on a call of a shooting. Denver Police Department Public Information Officer Sonny Jackson confirmed to 9NEWS one person had been shot to death. Jackson said there is no suspect on the loose in the case, and the community is not in danger. He also confirmed that no arrests have been made.

He did not give further details on that person's identity nor the circumstances surrounding the death.

While a neighbor shared with 9NEWS the possibility of an intoxicated intruder being shot by the homeowner. Denver Police indirectly responded to the story via the department's Twitter account, which read: "ACCURACY MATTERS: The death investigation from S. Glencoe this morning - is NOT a "Make My Day" case. We will update here as we are able."

Nearly 24-hours after that Twitter post, police were still unable to clarify with 9NEWS the circumstances of the shooting, but tweeted "The inv re 3200 blk S Glencoe shooting is at a point that we can release accurate details. Watch for an update this morning."

According to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner, 29-year-old Charles McLaughlin was transported to Denver Health Medical Center after being shot. The medical examiner's office did not specify whether McLaughlin died on scene or at the hospital, but said the cause and manner of death would be determined through an autopsy scheduled to be completed on Monday.
