The festival runs from June 25 - Aug. 7 and features a wide range of selections.
It will include a new production of Bizet's "Carmen," the first fully-staged production in North America of Handel's "Amadigi di Gaula" and a double bill of three one-act operas: "Gianni Schicchi" by Puccini, "The Breasts of Tiersias" by Poulenc and Weill's "The Seven Deadly Sins. "
If opera is a little too adventurous for you, Central City Opera has other forms of entertainment to offer. Come to Central City Days on July 30 and 31 for some historic Colorado adventures. You will be able to explore mines and museums, take part in a cemetery crawl, and enjoy a wide variety of food. During the Festival, you can also show up for Jazz Brunches, which features jazz tunes and fine food.
2011 Festival subscriptions, starting at $42, are on sale now and include Carmen, Amadigi di Gaula and two of the one-acts. Packages are also available to see all five shows this summer. Single tickets, starting at $20, and tickets for individual one-act performances starting at $10, are also on sale now.
