Back Country Access (BCA) makes an impressive line of products from beacons that help to find someone buried under an avalanche to a fancy backpack that has an airbag that expands to keep a skier or snowboarder on top of the snow slide. While the gadgets would make James Bond proud, the company's focus is squarely on saving lives.
"We pride ourselves on being the "knowledge leaders" of our industry," a spokesperson for the company said.
BCA was founded in 1994 by Bruce McGowan and Bruce Edgerly with a mission to educate people, as well as to equip them for the dangers in the back country.
